Visiting the Duomo: where to begin
Cathedral, dome and museum: choose your visit before booking.
One square, several visits
The Duomo complex includes the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery, Santa Reparata and the Opera del Duomo Museum. Decide which places you want to see before choosing a ticket: visiting the cathedral and climbing the dome are different experiences.
Choose your route
The Opera’s website presents the Brunelleschi, Giotto and Ghiberti passes. Compare the monuments included, entry conditions and opening times for your travel dates. If a climb is your priority, check the route’s requirements and accessibility information first.
Build your day around any visit with a fixed admission time, leaving some space either side. A break gives you time to enjoy the square at a gentler pace.
