Santa Croce, from fibre to fabric: two days with textile makers

For travellers who choose a fabric partly for its origins, we suggest the Textile Arts Fair: 7 and 8 November 2026 in Piazza Santa Croce, with free admission.

The programme includes tablet weaving on Saturday at 11am and dyeing with food scraps on Sunday at 2:30pm. Our suggestion is to begin with a practical question: which fibre is this piece made from, and who worked it?

Check the organiser’s programme before visiting and ask directly about participation arrangements for workshops. Choosing a particular activity can give a walk around the stalls more purpose.
